TIPS FOR IMPROVING VOLLEY USING RESISTANCE BAND 1

In this post we are going to talk about both right and reverse volley, and how to improve some of the key aspects of it.
As we all know volley is a stroke that is used being in the net, in which we hit the ball in the air in which it bounces. It is considered an attack hit, although some of its variants can be considered transition or continuity.

When we are trying to improve our volley, one of the main points to improve is the speed of the movement, as this has to be technically performed properly, but with considerable speed for our volleys are aggressive.

An error that often occurs is the lack or inability to accelerate the arm to meet the technical requirement that is to keep a short armed and in front of the line of the body. When this lack of speed occurs, a much wider movement is usually executed to benefit the speed. The problem lies in the loss of the correct technical execution of the volley (wide arming, turning of the body...).
To solve this problem there is an exercise that is very useful, and to be able to do it we only need some rubber resistance.

The exercise consists of making the technical gesture holding the elastic band with the hand, assuming a resistance for our gesture is working on increasing the power of our arm, also working with a high degree of transference to the movement of the volley.
The following procedure will be carried out:
4 x (10 repetitions of the gesture with the rubber and 10 volleys followed by 1 minute of rest).
Then we will do it with the other volley, that is, if we have started with the right-hand volley, then we will do it with the backhand volley.

With this exercise we are boosting the speed of the arm and once we change the rubber for the shovel we will notice that our stroke comes out with greater speed than before.

A variant for this stroke could be to hook the resistance band to the wrist so you can do the exercise holding the shovel and only have to release th elastic band when doing the strokes of balls.
